design capabilities technical resources At Adwest we pride ourselves in our design and development facilities. Our computer-aided design system allows us to perform a great deal of development long before we begin the manufacturing process. From the solid models which are produced in the computer, we can carry out virtual trial assemblies, perform collision detections and produce manufacturing drawings detailed to the nearest micron. Computer-Aided Design Finite Analysis Technology All of our components and assemblies are fully tested at every stage of manufacture. However, at the development stage, we are still able to test and interrogate components for possible weaknesses before we even begin to manufacture them thanks to our Finite Element Analysis system (FEA). The Catia FEA system which we employ is able to apply loads and stresses to virtual models of our components in the computer and generate test results based on the physical properties of the materials used in its manufacture. We can even test a component to see how it will perform over its entire life span!
